BOOKING | TOUR DATES

I have dabbled in music for many years, it's offers me another much needed creative outlet.

It wasn't until I met Craig Green in
the later part of the 1990's that I was coerced into taking it seriously. Craig was at the time a recent transplant from New Orleans. We met in a small town in southeastern Idaho and quickly developed an easy friendship and discovered an electric and elastic musical sympatico.

So far we have produced two CDs of original instrumental compositions. Together we have had the very good fortune to have toured across the US and into Europe.

Through live performance, recordings, and the internet Soucek & Green having developed a rather rabid following in the US, Canada, France, Greece, Netherlands, Spain, Slovenia, and Japan.

I have had the good fortune to share the bill with many great musicians, including: Ray Charles, The Violent Femmes, Pierre Bensusan, Tony Orlando, violinist Eyvind Kang, Brazilian percussionist Emilano Benivides, tabla percussionist George Grant, and Larry Pattis,

Recently my focus has been on composing and performing solo works for guitar and vocal. In addition I have developed a revolving and evoling eclectic bunch of musicians that I throw together in a live group setting from time to time to see what happens, I call this ensemble "Of LikeMind".

See the TOUR DATES page for upcoming performances.

"Strange Dreams"
Soucek & Green

Listen to "Cool Moroccan Winds"

Listen to "Love Never Dies"

Strange Dreams was recordedin 1998
in a series of small studio sessions with bassist Matt Larson (who performs with the Salt Lake City Symphony), and tabla virtuoso George Grant. Special guest saxophonist Kevin Young sat in
on two of my compositions as
well as our arrangement of the
Led Zeppelin classic "Kashmir."

Legendary French guitar vurtuoso
Pierre Bensusan made a very rare special guest appearance reciting the poem "L'Offrande" by Rabindranath Tagore.

"Strange Dreams" is very special
to me, the compositions were
written over a long period of time and their inspiration was drawn
from the rich musical influences
and traditions of Spain, the
mideast, northern africa, south america and the deep blues and jazz heritage in this country.

"Love Never Dies." is for
me Mum.

"If you like exotic and interesting
guitar music similar to Narada
and Windham Hill artists you'll
love Soucek & Green. Beautiful intricate arrangements and incredible
playing. They will steal your heart."

"Channeling Picasso"
Soucek & Green

Listen to "Sangre de Cristo"

Listen to "Blue Mosque"

Channeling Picasso is an
intimate live recording capturing
the spontaneity and freshness
only found in live performance.

We enlisted noted viola
and violinist Eyvind Kang
(who often performs with Beck
and noted jazz great Bill Frizell among others) to join us for the session. The entire project was recorded in one short afternoon at BearCreek Studios just
outside of Seattle.

Nearly every piece is first-take,
it was a magical experience.

"Soucek and Green
have serious chops,
quite good taste,
and a sense of abandon
that inspires them
to flights of fury.
Several tracks bring to mind
such jazz guitar ventures
as "Friday Night"
with John Maclaughlin,
Paco DeLucia and
Al Di Miola".
