I've dabbled in music for many years,
it offers me another much needed
creative outlet.

It wasn't until I met Craig Green in
the later part of the 1990's that I was coerced into taking it seriously. Craig is
a seasoned and talented musician, who,
at the time was a recent transplant from New Orleans. We met in a small town
in southeastern Idaho and quickly developed an easy friendship and an electric and elastic musical sympatico.

As Soucek & Green we have produced
two CDs of original instrumental compositions so far and have had the good fortune to have toured across the
U.S. and Europe.

Spirited live performances, recordings, and the web have garnered a rather rabid following in the US, Canada, France, Greece, Netherlands, Spain, Slovenia, and Japan. We have had the extreme good fortune to share the bill with many great musicians, including: the late great Ray Charles, The Violent Femmes, Pierre Bensusan, violinist Eyvind Kang (who performs with Beck and Bill Frizell among others), Brazilian percussionist Emilano Benivides, tabla percussionist George Grant, and fingerstyle virtuoso Larry Pattis.

My musical focus lately has been on composing solo works for guitar and vocal.
I also have a revolving and evoling eclectic group of mad musician friends that I throw together in live group settings from time to time to see what happens, I call this ensemble "Of LikeMind".

Strange Dreams was recorded in 1998
in a series of small studio sessions with bassist Matt Larson (who performs with the Salt Lake City Symphony), and tabla virtuoso George Grant. Special guest saxophonist Kevin Young sat in
on two of my compositions as
well as our arrangement of the
Led Zeppelin classic "Kashmir."

Legendary French guitar vurtuoso
Pierre Bensusan made a very rare special guest appearance reciting the poem "L'Offrande" by Rabindranath Tagore.

"Strange Dreams" is very special to me, the compositions were written over a long period of time and their inspiration was drawn from the rich musical influences and traditions of Spain, the mideast, northern africa, south america and the deep blues and jazz heritage of this country.

"Love Never Dies." is for
me mum Irene.
